The Anneville estate was founded around the middle of the 19th century by Prosper Cuypers van Velthoven, a resident of Ginneken who owned land in the vicinity of Geersbroek. In 1898, the Coach House was built. After being inhabited by the family for several generations, the estate was used as a hotel-restaurant from the 1920s until 1951. During World War II, the mansion was requisitioned by the Germans; first as an officer’s hotel, later as a bakery.

After the liberation of the Southern Netherlands, Anneville was occupied successively by HRH Prince Bernhard and HM Queen Wilhelmina. During her tour of the liberated south, Wilhelmina stayed in the mansion. She returned in early May 1945 for a six-week stay – this is where news of the German capitulation reached her.

After the war, the hotel was briefly operated again until 1951. After that, Anneville was successively leased by Thompson Port Companies of Rotterdam and the Outward Bound School Netherlands until the mid-1990s. During that period, the mansion and Koetshuis were restored. Today, the mansion is rented out as a residence and the Koetshuis is operated by the De Constant Rebecque family as a venue for meetings, trainings, weddings, funerals and other gatherings.
