The Saint Martin’s Church is also known as “Princenhage’s most precious possession. This religious-cultural heritage in the heart of the village dates back historically to the end of the 15th century. An impressive church building where families have gathered for centuries to share faith, sorrow, (mis)hope and love. It is beautiful heritage worth preserving for future generations so that our stories can live on.

The church has a rich history of people “on the move. Many churchgoers have gone before us, and for all that time St. Martin’s Church provided shelter as a beacon in the center of Princenhage. The tower used to have a strategic function: it was used to communicate over long distances, as a lookout and in times of war.

In 1993, the Saint Martin’s Guild was founded by concerned villagers, with the goal of contributing to restoration and maintenance. People like you, who find it valuable to preserve this monument as the shining centerpiece of Princenhage. Maintenance remains necessary and major repair work must be done. Find out about the Martinus Guild and help, because without care and attention from monument lovers like you, this church building will not survive. You are cordially invited!
