The Maria Mater Dei Care Monastery is a modern monastery and care center run by the Franciscan Sisters of “Alles voor Allen.”
This year, the sisters are celebrating their 200th anniversary and are offering you a unique opportunity to get a glimpse into the daily life and history of the monastic community.
During the tour, you’ll learn interesting facts about these humble sisters, such as the origins of the Amphia Hospital, which traces its roots directly to the Ignatius Hospital and, before that, the Gasthuis on the Haagdijk. The sisters’ life’s work is the very embodiment of resilience.
On this tour, you’ll follow a special route that takes you along the hospital path, the sisters’ museum, and the convent garden, among other stops.
