The current building is from 1500 and later, but as early as 1308 the nunnery St. Catharinadal was built at this location by the Norbertinesses. This convent was the oldest and largest nunnery in Breda. The last monastic order left in the 17th century and the building was used as an infantry barracks between 1814 and 1975. Holland Casino purchased and restored the Kloosterkazerne and opened the casino here in June 2003.

During Open Monument Day, join a guided tour of the former monastery barracks, which still contains beautiful monumental style elements and is full of special stories. Admission and tour is possible from 24 years and on presentation of avalid ID. RESERVE
