With guided tours they show where – and how – they preserve Breda’s history and you can visit places you normally can’t visit, such as the archive depots.

Tour of the archive depots – Saturday
Employees of the City Archives take you through the archives, telling you all about their work. Visit together places where you are normally not allowed and discover the most beautiful treasures from the archive (60 min.).

Tour Chassé Botanique – Saturday
From barracks to culture: during this tour, instead of diving into the archives, you will dive into the cultural history and architecture of the striking building and its surroundings. A special walk through the layers of time that have shaped the building.

Workshop Bring your poem to life – Saturday
Are you curious about the power of words? In this workshop led by illustrator Nanne Meulendijks, you’ll combine visual creativity with poetry. You will get to work writing a short eleven-word poem and translate it into a visual work of art.
Finish the workshop with an A2-sized poster to frame at home! The workshop will challenge you to look at your work in a new way and experiment with poetic expression (1.5 hours). The workshop is suitable for creatives from young to old, from about 8 years old (max. 15 pers.).

Tour Vlaszak – Sunday
Department of Archaeology takes you along the renovated Vlaszak. Due to recent archaeological research on the Vlaszak and Oude Vest, even more is now known about this part of the (medieval) city. Walk along and learn all about the archaeology hidden under the paving stones here!

Layer by Layer: The Future of Architecture – Sunday
Discover the modern magic of 3D printing! Lucas from Apollon3D will introduce you to this innovative technology on Sunday throughout. From printing process to design – architecture and special building elements come to life here. A fascinating counterpart to historical crafts: old meets new in a story of form, technology and imagination.
