In the nineteenth century, people began to think differently about hygiene. Therefore, the canals were covered and a large-scale sewer system was created.
Part of the old sewer still exists and is still in use. Indeed, for sustainability reasons, it has been restored.
Tour
- Tours on both days at 10:00 / 11:00 / 13:00 / 14:00 / 15:00
- Duration: 1 hour, max 10 people per tour.
- Register 15 minutes before start, at Beneden Breda (this is diagonally opposite Frietje Houtmarkt, Houtmarkt 9).
- Children from 10 years old (between 10 and 16 years old only under supervision).
- Not suitable for people with mobility problems.
- Bring your own boots!
