A stately old building on the Kasteelplein is home to the permanent exhibition on the history of Breda Castle and, in particular, the Royal Military Academy (KMA). Designed by city architect Cuypers, this 1867 building once housed Breda’s first HBS. Afterwards, it was added to the Military Academy and, since its restoration in 2009, has borne the name ‘Queen Wilhelmina Pavilion.’

As a fortress, a palace, the Royal Military Academy (KMA) and the Royal Military Academy (KMA), the building has been a part of Breda’s cultural heritage.

As a castle, palace or military academy, Breda Castle has already had a long road through history. It -still –moves with the needs of the times.
Our exhibition in the Wilhelmina Pavilion shows all kinds of things about this historic journey that seems far from finished.
